We’re Stagecoach North East.
We’ve been running bus services in Newcastle, Sunderland, South Shields, Teesside and Hartlepool for many years, and we continue to play an important role in helping people access work, education, health, shopping and leisure.
We are part of the local community and we proactively support a number of local charities of which our employees enjoying taking part in many fundraising activities throughout the year.
In the coming years we have some exciting plans through which we start to see the introduction of 58 electric buses as part of our sustainability drive.
We Keep The North East Moving
We operate 430 buses and carry over 53 million passengers a year We have a dedicated workforce of 1,400 employees, with 1,100 drivers, 230 in our engineering department and 70 support and administrative staff.
Committed To Net Zero
We are committed to providing our communities with sustainable travel options. Most of our fleet are low emission vehicles and we have recently secured funding for 42 new electric vehicles which will be introduced into service in 2025 with our aim to have a zero-emission fleet by 2035.

Our Walkergate depot being accredited with Ambassador status for the year. Sunderland attended a recent awards ceremony and received a special recognition award on top of the silver award.
