We are Stagecoach South West and you may know us as the local bus company in your area, but we're also one of the largest UK bus operators since 1996.
We've run express and local bus services across Devon and into Cornwall and Somerset. And we continue to play an important role in helping people access work, education, health and shopping and leisure. We're proud to serve Devon and for over 25 years, we've connected our community to the people and places they need to get to.
While we may have seen a lot of changes over the years, our mission has always been the same connected people and communities, our depots in Barnstable, Exeter Torquay and Plymouth are proud to be part of the day-to-day life in their community.
Every month over 2 million people board our buses and trust us to get them where they need to be. We operate a fleet of almost 400 buses and drive 1.2 million miles every month. We run city and rural services across Devon from our depots in Barnstaple, Exeter, Plymouth and Torquay. Our services also cross into Cornwall and Somerset.
Our 2021 Stagecoach sustainability strategy sets out a roadmap to decarbonize by circuit 70% by 2035 and to become a carbon neutral business by 2050. A substantial investment from both Stagecoach and the DFT for the region will see new electric buses for Torbay, Exeter, and Barnstaple, totalling 90 buses and a combined investment of £44.7 million which will be rolled out in 2024 - 2026.
Stagecoach South West takes great pride in supporting our local communities.
We organise regular socials at each depot across the region, annual football matches bringing everyone together, and health & wellbeing events.
We are heavily involved in our local communities, and sponsor many events across our region, including Pride, Children’s Week Torbay, RAMM Exeter Transport Exhibition, and big Noise Chorus.
It's our people who make our service special. They do more than make the wheels go round. They are the very spirit of Stagecoach, from bus and coach drivers to engineers, cleaners and customer service staff.
There are almost 1100 of us working together to help the Southwest reach our goal of becoming the UK's favourite most successful public transport company.
