What Does An Apprenticeship Involve?

Year 1 to 3

Stagecoach Engineering apprenticeships programs span a four-year duration, structured to provide comprehensive learning and skill development.

The initial three years involve practical learning within our depots alongside attendance at specialised training colleges. Here, you'll work towards achieving either the Bus and Coach Engineering Technician Standard or the Modern Apprenticeship in Bus and Coach Engineering Maintenance in Scotland.

Year 4

The fourth year is a bespoke, award-winning program crafted by Stagecoach UK Bus, endorsed and certified by the Institute of the Motor Industry. Throughout the course, you'll further hone your skills through participation in in-house and manufacturer's technical courses.

You will be paired with a seasoned mentor to provide guidance and support throughout the program. Upon successful completion, apprentices are eligible for membership with the Society of Operations Engineers, further enriching their professional journey.
