What type of contactless cards or devices can be used?

You can use Mastercard (including Maestro UK) and Visa debit and credit cards. Just check your card has the contactless symbol before using it.

You can also use Mastercard and Visa cards on Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay. So it's really easy to pay using your smartphone or watch. 

Unfortunately, some card companies don't let you pay contactless on public transport. Just check with them before you travel if you're unsure.
