Lancaster's Santa Bus raises over £600 for Bay Hospitals Charity

Stagecoach in Lancaster presented Bay Hospitals Charity with a cheque for £601.86 last week. The money was raised through fundraising efforts aboard the Santa Bus, which operated across Lancaster between the 6th and 24th of December 2018.

Jack Wright, Assistant Operations Manager for Stagecoach in Lancaster and Morecambe said:  “We believe passionately in supporting local charities, rather than national charities where local people may not see the results as much.

“We chose to support our local hospital after speaking to some of our drivers. The Neonatal Unit at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) was chosen as some of our drivers have had dealings with the unit in the past, it is a great unit.

“It was great to see the smiles on passengers faces and everyone appreciating the Santa bus, from the young to the elderly.  The feedback we received from local people was great and it was brilliant to give something back to the local community.  We look forward to doing this again for the charity this Christmas”.

Judith Read, Charity Coordinator at Bay Hospitals Charity said: “On behalf of everyone at Bay Hospitals Charity and the Neonatal Unit at the RLI a big thank you.

“It is thanks to the generosity of the local community that our charity can fund the items that the NHS cannot, helping to provide additional medical equipment, improving the hospital environment and supporting our clinical teams through specialist training to ensure that local people get the best possible care and treatment possible.
