Skegness Seasiders are back

03 Apr 2019

MillyThe Skegness Seasider open top buses return from Saturday (April 6) with their family-friendly fares including a £1 child fare.

Running for throughout the holiday season until October, fares for children to ride on the colourful character buses are just £1 per trip.

The 11 Seasiders are Rocky, Sandy, Shelly, Candy, Pierre, Salty, Sunny, Teddy, Milly, Rolly and Sweetie.

They come out of winter hibernation this weekend to provide passengers - residents and holiday-makers alike - with a fun way to explore Skegness and the coast by hopping on and off the bus between resorts and attractions.

Children’s tickets are now just £1 per trip when accompanied by an adult. Family day riders (valid for 2 adults and 3 children) are just £12 for all day travel. For regular bus users the £16 Megarider ticket offers unlimited travel on all Stagecoach buses in Skegness for one week.

Matt Cranwell, Managing Director, Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “The Seasiders are back and looking forward to a busy time helping people get around. Children and families love them and they are a colourful addition to Skegness and Ingoldmells. We want to do our bit to make it as easy as possible for everyone to enjoy the attractions of the East Coast and so we’re pleased that we’re also able to provide some great fare offers.”

Children travelling on any Seasiders can ask the driver for a special Seasider badge, which shows the character of the actual bus they are riding for their journey. If they collect six or more different badges, they can take them to the Stagecoach Travelshop at Skegness bus station, and receive a Skegness Seasider goody bag.

To launch the Seasiders’ exciting new season, and celebrate the return of the characters, a fun family day in Skegness is planned in May half-term. The event will also see the launch of the latest in the popular series of Seasiders’ children’s story books.

Fans of the Seasiders can already read about the exciting adventures of Rocky, Sandy, Salty and Candy in books available from the Skegness travel shop, at the bus station, or by calling 0345 605 0605. A contribution from the sale of each book is donated to children’s charities. Seasiders Tee-shirts are also available.
