Stagecoach East Midlands has received one of the highest customer satisfaction results in the country for their services across Nottinghamshire, following an annual independent passenger satisfaction survey conducted by Transport Focus.
The results are compiled through a survey of over 40,000 bus passengers across the UK.
Overall 95% of Stagecoach customers in Nottinghamshire were found to be satisfied with their service.
The results follow a significant £11m investment by Stagecoach East Midlands in new low emission vehicles and technology in the last three years.
New contactless payment technology, introduced in May 2018 across all vehicles, has made on-bus transactions quicker and easier for all customers.
In 2018 Stagecoach launched its new Pronto buses, operating between Chesterfield and Nottingham, which feature ultra-low emission engines and modern interiors with USB charging, for a stress-free journey.
The survey results also showed high levels of satisfaction for the following areas:
- 95% for safety of driving
- 93% for bus security
- 87% for bus punctuality
- 89% for satisfaction with on-bus journey time
- 90% for the welcome/greeting from the driver
- 91% for staff helpfulness and attitude, an 8% increase on the previous year.
Managing Director, Matt Cranwell said: “Stagecoach East Midlands recognises the importance of listening to its customers and we are proud to have achieved one of the highest ratings in the independent Transport Focus Survey.
“We continue to work closely in partnership with local authorities to ensure we deliver the highest standards of service for the customers and communities we serve each and every day.
“It’s great to see that investments such as our new Pronto vehicles, contactless payment systems and App are having a positive impact on our customers. The report also praises the hard work and commitment of our teams in Nottinghamshire and I’d like to thank them for their continued dedication and professionalism.”
