Local bus company Stagecoach East Midlands is taking on competition from across the country in the highly contested Top Shire Operator category in the finals of the prestigious UK Bus Awards.
Stagecoach East Midlands has been recognised for its success in operating a comprehensive network of services across Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, South and East Yorkshire. This follows their continued investment in new technology and Euro VI vehicles to enhance the customer journey, and their achievement of a 95% overall satisfaction rating by customers in the Transport Focus passenger survey.
The award celebrates county bus companies that provide an outstanding service, show commitment to improving the environment they operate in, and are obsessive about the customer experience. The team will now head to London on 19 November for the all-important finals.
Stagecoach East Midlands Managing Director, Matt Cranwell, said “I am delighted to announce that Stagecoach East Midlands have been shortlisted for an award at this year’s UK Bus Awards. A huge amount of work goes into delivering our bus services every day, from the high standard of our vehicles, delivery of operations and customer services, to marketing, being part of the community and making the bus a more sustainable choice. We have a great team of people here at Stagecoach East Midlands who due to their exceptional contributions make this all possible and I’d like to congratulate them on their achievement”.
Mark Yexley, Chairman of the UK Bus Awards, said: “Reaching the finals is a huge achievement and every employee that’s played a part should be really proud of what they’ve accomplished. Companies have to demonstrate outstanding levels of performance and excellent customer service. To be up there as one of the best bus companies in the country is testament to all their hard work. It’s an honour to be able to recognise these businesses. We wish the whole team at Stagecoach East Midlands the very best of luck.”
