- New Saturday service to be introduced in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council between Sleaford and Lincoln
- Enhanced service to offer more links to places of work and for weekend leisure activities
Stagecoach East Midlands has today announced that they will be improving their 31 service, connecting Sleaford, Ruskington, Metheringham and Lincoln on a Saturday.
The change, which comes into effect on Saturday 7 June 2025, will provide new Saturday journeys on the route, to enable better connectivity for commuters to places of work and for leisure activities such as shopping.
On Saturdays, buses will run 5 journeys between Sleaford and Lincoln City Centre from early in the morning until teatime which will offer the local community a full Monday to Saturday service.
This service enhancement is part of the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) initiative, funded in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council. The improved timetable aims to better serve local communities and is in response to customer concerns about lack of travel options on a weekend.
Matthew Cranwell, Managing Director of Stagecoach East Midlands, said: "We're thrilled to announce this significant improvement to Service 31. By introducing a Saturday service, we're making public transport a more convenient and attractive option for the communities we serve.
“We are always listening to community feedback and working with our partners to enhance local public transport options."
Lincolnshire County Council said: " We are delighted to introduce this Saturday service between Sleaford & Lincoln enabling more people to travel by public transport. This latest service improvement is brilliant news for our region and builds on the other 15 plus service upgrades Lincolnshire County Council has completed under our BSIP programme so far. We continue to work in partnership with our local bus operators to deliver these improvements to the county’s public transport network. "
