Local bus operator raises further funds for children's charity via colleague feedback survey

17 Nov 2025

  • More money raised for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity
  • Tell Me survey canvasses colleagues’ opinions
  • Colleagues recently carried out bake sale for charity

Local bus operator, Stagecoach East Midlands, is again raising vital funds to support the essential work done by a children’s charity, as it asks its colleagues for their honest feedback on how the operation can improve still further.

Stagecoach East Midlands will donate £2 to the Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity for each colleague who answers its annual ‘Tell Me’ survey. Tell Me gives Stagecoach’s colleagues, across the country, the opportunity to express their opinions in complete confidence, so the operator can develop and build on their views.

Only last month, representatives from Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity visited the team at Stagecoach East Midlands, to talk about the work they do and to try some of the ‘marvellous’ themed treats made during a bake sale, which has already raised hundreds of pounds.

Matt Cranwell, Managing Director of Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “Our Tell Me survey is a hugely important part of our year – it is an opportunity for our colleagues to confidentially tell us exactly what they think, and we build on their insights throughout the year.

“We were so impressed by meeting some of the Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity team – the work they do is so important, so we wanted to find a way to help them further, and this seemed the perfect opportunity to do it. This way, our customers get to benefit, both from the further improvements that will no doubt come from our colleague’s feedback, but also from the work done by this important charity.”

Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity works with over 70 NHS Trusts, across the UK, with over 200 Roald Dahl Nurses providing support for more than 40,000 children. Roald Dahl Nurses are a lifeline to the whole family, coordinating care and providing access to emotional support. They help families feel less overwhelmed and isolated and more in control.

About Stagecoach

Founded in 1980, Stagecoach is the UK’s largest bus and coach operator, with a fleet of 8,400 vehicles connecting over 100 major towns and cities across England, Scotland, and Wales.

With 25,000 people in our team, we’re deeply rooted in the communities we serve. We know how important it is to stay connected to the people and places that matter – and we’re proud to play our part in helping make everyday journey simpler, greener and more reliable.

It’s all part of our promise: we’ve got you.

We work closely with partners to support greener, smarter, and more inclusive transport – helping reduce congestion, cut emissions and boost local economies. More than 10% of our 8,400-strong fleet is now electric, and that number continues to grow as we invest in cleaner, more sustainable travel.

As part of our sustainability strategy, we’ve committed to supporting local communities by donating up to 0.5% of profit before tax each year to charitable causes across the UK.
