  • Stagecoach East Scotland donated £3,200 to four foodbanks across Fife
  • Dunfermline, Glenrothes, Cupar and Levenmouth communities will benefit from the monetary donations.

Stagecoach East Scotland have donated £3,200 to four different charities across Fife, with foodbanks in Dunfermline, Glenrothes, Cupar and Levenmouth all receiving a cheque.

This welcome donation comes just as the winter months come on the horizon and with budgets tighter than ever before, allowing the foodbanks to provide much needed necessities to people who need them the most. With almost 9000 people given a three-day emergency food parcel in South West Fife alone, the money donated by Stagecoach will go a long way to helping provide supplies for thousands of households across the winter months.

These donations are part of a wider commitment from the bus operator to support the local community, assisting with access to local foodbanks as well as supporting the continued operation of these vital resources.

Scott Hall, Head of Commercial for Stagecoach East Scotland said: “We’re extremely proud to support foodbanks across Fife, especially at this crucial time of year when budgets can be even more stretched. Community is at the heart of everything we do, and we believe that everyone should have access to basic food supplies coming into the winter months.

All foodbanks who we have donated to are reachable by bus, making travel to each affordable and accessible for Fifers who require some extra support this winter.”
