Stagecoach supports local communities this Easter

04 Apr 2025

  • Stagecoach’s Arbroath depot is collecting Easter Eggs for fourth year in a row
  • Around 500 Easter Eggs expected to be donated to local schools
  • Additional donation to be made to Royal National Lifeboat Institution
  • Easter egg stickers hidden on buses for customers to find and win a prize

Stagecoach East Scotland’s Arbroath depot has been encouraging staff to donate Easter eggs and contribute to their Easter fund, helping to provide Easter treats for local schools.

This initiative is now in its fourth year, with around 500 eggs expected to be collected. Staff contribute by donating easter eggs and raising funds through a football prize draw. The donated Easter eggs are gifted to local schools in Arbroath, ensuring that children who might not receive an Easter treat still get to enjoy something special.

Any remaining eggs are donated to Antiquary Care Home in Arbroath, just a short walk from the depot, and any additional funds raised will be donated to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Arbroath Lifeboat charity.

Arbroath Driver, Derek Millar plays a key role in the local Easter activities, as he not only organises some of the fundraising, but he also dresses up as the Easter bunny when delivering the eggs!

Debora Doherty, Assistant Operations Manager at Stagecoach’s Arbroath depot said: “It’s great to see the Arbroath team getting involved and doing their bit to support local communities again this Easter. I know that seeing the smiles on kids’ faces when they get handed over an Easter Egg is always a highlight, especially when they’re handed over by the Easter Bunny! Well done to Derek and the rest of Team Arbroath!”.

Until Monday 21st April, Stagecoach is offering all customers the chance of winning free bus travel and some Easter goodies, when “The Great Scottish Easter Egg Hunt” returns. Stagecoach buses and coaches across Scotland have Easter Egg stickers hidden on select services, where passengers can scan a QR code to be entered into an Easter prize draw. There are three sets of prizes up for grabs, each including a 28-day MegaRider ticket and a hamper of Easter treats.
