Monday 9th February is one of the most important dates in our diary... And since you’ve already seen the title of this blog, you can probably guess what that day is!

National Pizza Day is a day for pizza lovers across the country to head out and enjoy a tasty treatSowe’ve put together a list of places where you can enjoy a delicious pizza and how you can get the bus there and back! Happy Pizza-ing!

1. Casa Mia – Dunfermline

Casa Mia is an Italian restaurant on Nethertown Broad Street in Dunfermline, just a 10-minute walk from Dunfermline bus station. Even better, our Dunfermline town services 1 and 2stopright next door! Casa Mia is a family run restaurant with a true passion for authentic Italian cuisine, offering true Italian pizzas. With the name of the restaurant meaning “my home” in Italian, it’s the perfect place to feel at home whilst you enjoy a slice we recommend the Pepperoni!

2. Pizza Punks – Glasgow

Pizza Punks is just a short walk from Glasgow bus station. Ideally situated if you’re coming into Glasgow from the East or West. Pizza Punks is a pizza exclusive restaurant with loads of out thereoptions if you live life on the wild side. Or you can make your very own pizza! 3. NYPD New York Pizza – Dundee

NYPD – New York Pizza Dundee is a place where passion meets taste. Their pizzas have crispy thin bases and delicious toppings, and they offer different regional styles that add to the rich world of pizza! And if pizzas aren’t your thing(?!), they also offer some other tasty Italian treats, such as their Chicken Parm Sandwich. NYPD is located on Perth Street in Dundee with services 39 and 73 stopping just outside the restaurant. 

4. Little Italy – St Andrews

Little Italy is nestled in the heart of St Andrews and is a family-run Italian restaurant who take pride in bringing the authentic flavours of Italia to your table. They offer 11 different pizza options (we’ll take a slice of each 😉), in addition to many other Italian cuisine options. Little Italy is located on Logies Lane, just off Market Street where our services 90, 91 and 95 stop. Coming from further afield? No worries as, Little Italy is only a 6-minute walk from St Andrews Bus Station. 

5. La Fiamma Stone Baked Pizza - Aberdeen

In the Aberdeen area, and love a stone baked pizza? La Fiamma Stone Baked Pizza could be the place for you. They are famed for their simplicity and love for tradition and have something for everyone on the menu, including vegan options. 6. Aldente - Ayr

Aldente is the home to an award-winning chef that brings all things Italian cuisine. They offer up stone baked pizzas, with every dish a tribute to the authentic Italian flavours with their own modern twist. And they have other classic Italian options if you don’t want a pizza! Service24, and 14 stop close by Aldente, making it a great choice to visit by bus if you're in the Ayr area. 

7. Civerinos – Edinburgh

Who doesn’t love a nice day out in the capital? 8. Little Italy– Inverness

Time to head back up north to Inverness for a little taste of Italy... or Little Italy to be exact. Known for its warm and inviting atmosphere, the décor makes it feel like you’re dining in a traditional Italian Taverna. They offer up many authentic pizzas as well as other Italian traditions such as freshly made pasta. Little Italy is just a short walk away from Inverness bus station but service 5 stops close to the restaurant too.

9. Cecchini’s Restaurant & Bar - Ardrossan

Cecchini’s in Ardrossan is the penultimate stop on our pizza journeya family run Italian restaurant where the family hail from Tuscany. The recipes are brought from their original hometown, bringing the true flavour of Tuscan cooking. They have a range of different pizzas on offer with the Diavola looking like a standout option to this writer. Service 12 stops very close by to the restaurant, giving you the perfect excuse to go for a slice or two by bus. 

10. Fired Dough Pizza – Edinburgh

Fired Dough Pizza located on Lothian Road isjust a short walk away from Edinburgh bus station. Offering Neapolitan-style dough, that’scarefully handmade and left for 24 to 48 hourstheir pizzas are made with fresh ingredients and unforgettable taste. The Pollo Vulcano which is a choice of BBQ or San Marzana tomato base, For Dii Latte Mozzarella, spicy Tandoori Chicken and chilli flakes would be our choice!.This could be the perfect lunch or dinner spot if you’re having a day out in Edinburgh.
