Long-serving Fife bus driver Ian Given has driven his final service; bringing to a close an exceptional 34-year career with Stagecoach.
Ian joined the business in April 1992 and has worked across several depots in Fife during his career, starting at Aberhill as a driver before progressing into a controller role and later returning to driving.
Over the years he has become a familiar and trusted presence to colleagues and customers alike, known for his steady professionalism and depth of operational experience.
A respected figure within the depot network, Ian also supported the development of colleagues, sharing his knowledge generously across teams and helping to mentor newer staff entering service.
Ian, who lives in Kennoway, now begins retirement with plans to spend the summer travelling with his wife Kate and their much-loved dog Buster in their caravan, as well as enjoying time at home and in the garden.
Operations Manager Tom Wardlaw said:
“I would like to thank Ian for his 34 years of service with the company. On a personal note, I have appreciated working with him over the years and I am certain there are countless colleagues across Fife who will echo that sentiment. Best wishes for a long and happy retirement, Ian, and thank you for everything you have contributed.”
