Children at hospitals across Greater Manchester will be enjoying gifts and treats this Christmas thanks to your hard work and your generosity.

At Oldham Inspector Christopher Liddle has worked in partnership with eight local Tesco stores to collect gifts for children at Tameside General Hospital and the Royal Oldham Hospital. In total 800 gifts have been collected. On Friday 19 December gifts were delivered to Tameside by open top bus. Santa, The Grinch and staff from Oldham Depot were joined by Charity Champions from four of the Tesco Stores to help distribute gifts to children.

On Monday 22 December, Driver Simon Stopford visited the TreeHouse ward at Stepping Hill Hospital to deliver the selection boxes donated by staff at Stockport depot. The gifts were gratefully received by Beverley Williams from the Stepping Hill team.

On Tuesday 23 December Drivers Cheryl Mycock and Len Newnham visited Royal Manchester Children’s Hospitals to deliver selection boxes and toys donated by Queens Road staff. All the gifts received will be distributed on Christmas Day. The collection had been co-ordinated by Driver Joanne Newman.

Rob Jones MD for Stagecoach Manchester and Merseyside said “I would like to thank Chris, Simon and Joanne for all their hard work and everyone for their kind donations.”
