Stagecoach has announced that it will be supporting Everton FC vs Dynamo Kiev charity football match this evening (Friday 29 July). The pre-season friendly will be the first “Match for Peace” being played in the UK. The charity fundraising match will raise much needed funds, with all proceeds from the game going directly to the humanitarian charities in the Ukraine.
Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire will be providing its regular 919 matchday shuttle service for the match at Goodison Park, and will be donating all the money from bus ticket sales from the 919 this evening to the relief fund to support this significant event. And, in a further move to support the charity fundraising, Stagecoach's drivers on the 919 will also be generously donating an hour of their pay to the fund.
Matt Davies, Managing Director of Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire, said: "We're really excited to be supporting this landmark game at Goodison Park this evening. Our drivers on the 919 service are all generously donating an hour of their pay to the charity fund, and we are pleased to be donating all the proceeds from bus fare sales on the 919 service this evening to the Ukraine relief fund to support the fundraising efforts. We hope it's a great game!"
With the match taking place at Goodison Park, Stagecoach's 919 matchday shuttle service will return, operating 2 hours prior to kick off and after the final whistle, ensuring fans can get to the stadium direct from Liverpool City Centre (Commutation Row).
