Safety is paramount here at Stagecoach and we’re passionate about keeping our people, our passengers and other road users safe.
Cycling in the UK is rising in popularity with pedal bike usage increased by 46% compared to 2019. This is the highest level of cycling on the public highway since the 1960’s.
January also saw changes to the highway code introducing a ‘hierarchy of road users'. The aim of the changes is to improve road safety for all users including cyclists and here at Stagecoach we're all for anything that will make our roads safer.
To promote road safety and the changes to the highway code we're holding an event at our Gillmoss Depot at 10:00am on Thursday 12th May 2022.
The event is called 'Bus & Bike Buddies' and we're inviting cyclists to come and join us to talk about road safety and how we can work together to stay safe.
On the day we'll be giving away Stagecoach goodies, setting up and bus for you to sit in and discussing a number of road safety tops tips! We'll also be joined by various teams from Merseyside Police, Merseytravel Travelsafe Partners & representatives from Knowsley Council.
All are welcome, we'd love to see you there to join us in promoting road safety.
