We are delighted to support the very first Active Travel Festival taking place in Chester on the 18th June.
Walking, cycling and wheeling – ‘active travel’ – simply means making journeys in physically active ways.
Aimed at all ages and abilities the ACTIVE TRAVEL FESTIVAL or ATFest will be fun and informative, with the purpose to promote active travel as the natural choice for those short journeys: to school, work or the shops.
Bus use can be a good part of Active Travel journeys as people including walking to their bus stop. For example, it is a healthier, greener way to travel than door-to-door car use.
In fact, walking as part of routine travel, to access the bus, for example, can help meet the recommended 150 minutes of moderate activity a week.*
So why not walk to your local bus route and hop on a Stagecoach Bus today? Our buses run up to 20 minutes from Chester and Ellesmere Port to Chester Zoo, Cheshire Oaks and beyond!
Single fares are just £2 until the end of October too.
We will have a bus on display and the team will be talking about the health benefits of using the bus as part of a customer's Active Travel journey.
There will be free giveaways including some packs with ‘bonus’ vouchers to use on our Chester City Sightseeing Tour and further information leaflets about how active travel can make a difference to you.
The event takes place Sunday 18th June , 11am-4pm on Castle Square in Chester and we would love to see you pop down and say hello!
