Stagecoach Chester Depot is excited to announce its participation in the annual Chester Raft Race, scheduled to take place on Sunday, 30th June 2024 on The River Dee. This year, the event holds special significance as the team aims to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, a cause close to their hearts.
Motor Neurone Disease is a devastating condition that affects the brain and nerves, leading to weakness that gets worse over time. As recently highlighted in the news, former Rugby League player Rob Burrows tragically passed away after a courageous five-year battle with MND. His story, along with many others, underscores the urgent need for continued research and support for those affected by this relentless disease.
Personal connections to MND have deeply touched the Stagecoach Chester Depot team. Area Operations Manager, Matthew Gannon shared, "My mother-in-law was diagnosed three months before she sadly passed away. Seeing firsthand the impact of this disease drives our determination to contribute to finding a cure."
The team is calling on the community to support their fundraising efforts. Every pound donated will make a significant difference in advancing research and providing care for those affected by MND.
Donations can be made easily and securely through the team’s JustGiving page. All contributions go directly to the MND Association, ensuring that funds are used efficiently to support the charity’s vital work.
