Stagecoach's Lorraine Gavin wins national Excellence award

Lorraine Gavin, from Stagecoach Merseyside and Lancashire, picked up a prestigious national award at the company’s 2025 Excellence Awards on February 13^th in London.

Lorraine, a driver at Liverpool’s Gillmoss depot, received the ‘We Support Communities Award’ for her outstanding work in supporting her community. Going above and beyond, she organises an annual toy appeal at the depot to ensure local children get the Christmas they deserve.

“Lorraine works tirelessly every year to organise the Gillmoss annual toy appeal, actively encouraging the entire team to donate, so that Christmas gifts can be given to children of all ages in some of the more disadvantaged communities which we serve, who otherwise would receive little or nothing on Christmas day. Aside from driving donations, she collates the gifts, helps distribute them and makes countless visits to buy toys in her breaks between driving a bus. The Christmas 2024 toy appeal was the most successful to date, thanks to Lorraine’s hard work and dedication.”
