Stagecoach Merseyside Welcomed Dylan for Special Depot Visit

A nine-year-old St Helens bus enthusiast was given a day to remember after being invited behind the scenes at Stagecoach Merseyside’s St Helens depot.

Dylan Percival and his family were welcomed to the depot in Jackson Street last Saturday (19 September) following the recent attention around his passion for buses and his reaction to changes to local bus services.

His story struck a chord with bus drivers, transport workers and members of the local community, with people across Merseyside showing their support and helping to lift his spirits.

Stagecoach Merseyside Managing Director Rob Jones personally invited Dylan to the depot to give him the chance to see what happens behind the scenes to keep buses on the road across the region.

During his visit, Dylan, who lives in Moss Bank, met members of the Stagecoach team, explored the depot and climbed aboard a number of buses, while finding out more about the people and work involved in running local services.

His impressive knowledge of buses and enthusiasm for the industry quickly became apparent – and made an impression on the Stagecoach team.

Dylan was also given a special Stagecoach goody bag packed with bus-themed gifts and souvenirs to take home, helping to make the visit even more memorable.

Rob Jones, Managing Director of Stagecoach Merseyside, said:

“His passion for buses is infectious and it was a real pleasure to meet him and his family. He certainly knew his buses, and the whole team enjoyed spending time with him.
