Stagecoach Merseyside is currently operating 99.6% of its planned journey miles, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to delivering reliable and dependable bus services for customers across the Liverpool City Region.
The figure means that 99.6% of planned mileage was successfully operated, reflecting the dedication of Stagecoach's drivers, engineers, schedulers and operational teams who work every day to keep communities connected.
Reliability is one of the key measures used to assess bus service performance and reflects the percentage of planned journeys successfully operated. Alongside reliability, punctuality measures how closely services run to their scheduled times.
Stagecoach Merseyside continues to invest in its network, fleet and infrastructure to further improve the customer experience across the Liverpool City Region.
A key part of that investment is the transformation of Gillmoss Depot, which now serves as the primary hub for the region's growing fleet of zero-emission buses. The depot itself is equipped with 108 charging points across 54 high-powered chargers, ensuring the fleet can operate efficiently while supporting Stagecoach's journey towards its net-zero targets.
Built in the UK by Alexander Dennis and Wrightbus, the modern vehicles can travel up to 275 miles on a single charge and feature USB charging points, enhanced accessibility, real-time passenger information screens and improved onboard comfort.
As well as investing in its fleet and infrastructure, Stagecoach Merseyside remains focused on delivering excellent value for money. With the cost of motoring continuing to rise through fuel, insurance, maintenance and parking charges, bus travel offers an affordable and convenient alternative for everyday journeys.
Customers can benefit from low fares, contactless payments and mobile ticketing through the Stagecoach Bus App, which also provides journey planning and live bus tracking to help make travelling easier than ever.
Bus travel also plays an important role in reducing congestion and improving air quality. A fully loaded double-decker bus can remove up to 75 cars from the road, while Stagecoach's growing electric fleet is helping create a cleaner and more sustainable transport network across the Liverpool City Region.
Rob Jones, Managing Director of Stagecoach Merseyside, said: "We know how important, reliable bus services are to the communities we serve, and achieving 99.6% reliability is a fantastic reflection of the commitment shown by colleagues across our business.
Every day, our drivers, engineers, schedulers and support teams work hard to keep people moving safely and dependably. While we're proud of this achievement, we remain focused on continuously improving the service we provide.
Alongside delivering reliable services today, we're investing for the future with our partners at the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority through new electric buses, upgraded depot facilities and technology that enhances the customer experience. Our aim is to provide safe, punctual and reliable bus services that offer great value and encourage more people to choose bus travel."
Stagecoach Merseyside remains committed to connecting communities across the Liverpool City Region through safe, reliable and sustainable public transport. Continued investment in zero-emission vehicles, depot infrastructure and customer-focused technology is helping deliver a better experience for customers while supporting the region's environmental ambitions.
