Family Days Out

21 May 2021

Children on holiday

It’s spring, almost summer and that means one thing – half term. With months of lockdown under your belt, you’ve exhausted all of your great indoor activities but, we’re allowed out now so it’s time to venture back to the places you could only dream about last year.

Let’s break you in gently with an out-of-the-house-but-still-indoors activity. Cinema, it’s like TV but on a bigger screen. Hollywood postponed lots of big releases in the past 12 months and they’re about to drop now that the cinemas are open again. There’s something for everyone – Peter Rabbit 2 (21st May) for the little ones, Cruella (28th May) for the older kids and A Quiet Place: Part II (4th June) for the adults. We can even make it a little sweeter for you with up to 38% off cinema vouchers through Stagecoach Rewards – leaving you more money to spend on popcorn and slushies.

 Families on Holiday

Feeling a bit more energetic? Go Ape  is now open and the perfect place for some good-natured family bonding. With locations across the UK, you can swing through the treetops like a 21st century Tarzan...but with safety ropes. There are a variety of difficulty levels, meaning there’s no excuse not to give it a go. If we still need to convince you, how about a 10% discount when you book online

If the wide open wilderness isn’t for you, maybe the aquatic world is more your scene? SEA LIFE has thousands of creatures to marvel at, as well as educational talks and feeding demonstrations. It’s a special day when you can get up close to turtles, snakes and sharks and with the amazing 2for1 deal through Stagecoach Rewards, you can treat the whole family.

A great day out doesn’t have to cost anything. One of our favourite family days out is taking a picnic to the local park. Fill your basket/backpack/any-food-bearing-vessel with delicious treats (nothing you’d usually eat for lunch, that’s cheating!), grab the sporting equipment of your choice and a blanket to collapse onto when you’re tuckered out, and you’ve got the makings of a fun day out.

For the ultimate family thrill day, it’s got to be a visit to a theme park or the fair. Rollercoasters on repeat until you turn green. Hot dogs, fries and candy floss...until you turn green. Carousels, haunted houses, dodgems, waltzers, no matter how old you are, everyone returns to childhood when they step into a theme park and we’re all for that!

We’ve got loads more activities for you to choose from on our Stagecoach Rewards site, many that are local to your area. Whether it’s archery or mini-golf, bowling or hot-air ballooning, take a look and see what takes your fancy. Making memories has never been so enticing.
