Four-midable addition to Stagecoach

20 Oct 2025

Four-midable addition to Stagecoach services in Aberdeenshire
  • New Service 4 to connect Westhill, Aberdeen city centre, ARI and NESCOL introduced from Monday 27 October 2025
  • Evening enhancements on key corridors including Aberdeen–Inverurie and Aberdeen–Peterhead routes
  • Additional connections added for Portlethen and Stonehaven on Service 727
Stagecoach North Scotland is introducing a series of timetable enhancements across its network from Monday 27 October 2025, designed to improve reliability, punctuality and connections for customers travelling in Aberdeenshire and the Highlands.
The changes, which follow detailed analysis of customer feedback and traffic data, include the introduction of a brand-new Service 4 – a “four-midable” addition to the local network connecting Westhill, Kingswells, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI), NESCOL and Aberdeen city centre.
Following constructive discussions with the Westhill Local Community, Stagecoach is launching Service 4, operating every two hours during off-peak times between Aberdeen and Westhill Drive via Broad Street, Westburn Road (ARI Turning Circle), Kingswells Park & Ride and Westhill Tesco.
The new service will provide improved access for residents to employment, education and healthcare, and reflects Stagecoach’s continued investment in reliable, sustainable and community-focused bus travel.
David Beaton, Managing Director for Stagecoach North Scotland, said:
“We’re pleased to introduce Service 4 as part of our latest timetable enhancements across North Scotland. This new connection between Westhill, ARI, NESCOL and Aberdeen city centre will make it easier for people to travel sustainably for work, study or appointments.
“These improvements are built around feedback from our customers and local stakeholders, ensuring our services remain reliable and reflective of how people are travelling today.”
As part of the network review, several other routes will also benefit from timetable improvements:
Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire
  • Service 10/M96 – Revised Monday to Saturday evening timetable with additional journeys between Aberdeen and Inverurie.
  • Services X60/61/X63 – Revised evening timetable providing hourly departures from Aberdeen to Peterhead, with Services 61 and 68 offering up to every 30 minutes between Aberdeen and Ellon.

  • Services 64/64A and 69/69A – Minor timing adjustments for punctuality.

The timetable revisions are part of Stagecoach’s ongoing commitment to deliver a reliable, accessible and sustainable bus network across the North of Scotland. Each change is underpinned by data-driven analysis of road conditions, passenger demand and punctuality performance.
