As excitement for this year’s OxTrail mounts, and to shine a light on the amazing work undertaken by Sobell House Hospice – the beneficiary of funds raised by the art trail - Stagecoach West has donated 50 Gold 7-Day MegaRider passes to staff and volunteers at the hospice.
The bus operator is sponsoring an ox decorated by local artist Mary Blackshaw that will appear in the spectacular trail in July.
Chris Hanson, Managing Director, Stagecoach West says: “The staff and volunteers at Sobell House Hospice do such incredible work and we wanted to do something to champion them as we head into the much-anticipated OxTrail season.
“We’ve given them free travel around the region to enjoy much-deserved days out or maybe even to visit some of the Ox sculptures further afield!”
Through its sponsorship, Stagecoach West is supporting the Oxfordshire hospice charity and backing an event that will bring the community together and encourage tourism in Oxford. In addition, teams from Stagecoach West are organising several fundraising and support initiatives to be held over the summer.
Beth Marsh, Director of Fundraising, Sobell House Hospice says: “We are very grateful to Stagecoach West for the generous donation of travel passes for our staff and volunteers.
“Everyone is getting very excited about this year’s OxTrail so this is a wonderful way to kick start the festivities!”
OxTrail will launch to the public on 6 July 2024 and the art will be on display until the end of August 2024. After this, sculptures will be auctioned off to raise money for the hospice.
