‘Keep the wheels turning’; Stagecoach South East in search for the next generation of dedicated staff at Eastbourne employability fair

bfs logoOn Tuesday, colleagues at Stagecoach South East took part in the Big Futures Show, offering a glimpse to students from the Eastbourne area of just how big a future they could have working for the bus company.

The employability fair, held at East Sussex College in Eastbourne, welcomed 2000 students and parents to over 80 different stalls. Visitors had the opportunity to discover a wide-range of job opportunities available at Stagecoach South East, from engineering and support roles to driving buses.

The Stagecoach team were on hand to offer advice and information and answer questions from young people about a career in public transport. Merchandise including pens, torches and presentation folders were available for students to take home to discover more about all of the career paths available at Stagecoach.

The bus company has also released a new recruitment video featuring local colleagues extolling the message of a supportive work environment. The video focuses on local bus drivers' experience of working for the company, discussing the fun of their daily routines, job benefits, and the fulfilment of serving the local community.

James Third, operations manager at the company’s Eastbourne depot, spoke of his excitement for the event saying “as we come away from recurring lockdowns and restrictions, it’s important to show all the fantastic career opportunities that students have right here on their doorstep. There is a place for everyone at Stagecoach South East."
