An Eastbourne Primary School had a special visitor last week when Stagecoach South East paid a visit for them to learn all about buses!
Ali Rahmani, the Assistant Operations Manager for the company’s Eastbourne depot, spent the day with Oakwood Primary school pupils who’s current learning journey is the subject of transport. The reception class received Stagecoach goodie bags, including crayons, a colouring in flag, a cardboard bus, and a water bottle, all inside a hi-vis drawstring backpack for the class of 32.

Ali joined the class to teach them all about what it means to be a bus driver and answer their questions such as ‘why do we travel in different ways?’ and ‘why is the bus so colourful?’ The pupils then headed out for a trip in Eastbourne on the bus, driving along the seafront before each taking turns in the driver’s seat.
Headteacher of Oakwood Primary, Ryan Laker, praised Ali for his enthusiasm, professionalism, and friendly manner.
“This was just a great experience for the children - a bus on the school grounds and a ride. The children loved it...and their goodie bag too!”
