Thanet Open Top returns this Bank Holiday weekend

Thanet’s open-top bus is set to return this Easter weekend. 

Bus operator Stagecoach has confirmed the number 69 service will resume operating on Good Friday, 29^th March, commencing its 2024 season.

In 2023, the service carried over 25,000 passengers from April to September, giving a huge boost to the local economy.

Last year, the open top bus featured on local radio alongside other Thanet businesses, promoting the towns of Ramsgate and Broadstairs and the tourist attractions along the route.

The service will run initially on weekends, bank holidays and school half-term before it begins running every day from July for the summer holidays.

Operating hourly between Ramsgate Boating Pool and Stone Bay in Broadstairs, passengers will be able to hop on along the seaside route, with single fare journeys costing just £2, and up to four children can travel for as little as £1 each with any adult ticket holder.

Chris Webber, Operations Manager at the company’s Thanet depot, said: “We’re thrilled to announce the return of route 69 to the coast this weekend.

“The open top bus helps boost the local economy, while offering a fun activity for people of all ages.”
