99s arent just for summer

99s aren’t just for Summer! Hop on Stagecoach South East’s route 99 between Hastings and Eastbourne for a great escape this winter. Whether it’s a trip to the beach, exploring vintage shops or a day of arts and culture that you’re after, there’s something fun for everyone.

Serving Hastings, through Bexhill into Eastbourne, explore the stunning East Sussex coastline with great value bus fares that won’t break the bank. With single bus fares costing no more than £3, and buses running every 20 minutes, it makes sense to leave the car at home and travel by bus.

Cementing itself as a charming coastal town with a creative flair, Hastings shops are a must visit for thrifters and fans of all things vintage. On the quaint, cobbled streets in the Old Town you’ll feel a world away from the traditional seaside attractions, getting the best of both in this town. Check out Bobby & Dandy for affordable vintage clothing and take a break at Hanushka Coffee House, perfect for book lovers.

Further along from the Old Town discover Hastings’ chic seaside neighbour, St Leonards-on-Sea which exudes a relaxed, artistic vibe. Head to the King’s Road only a short walk away from Warriors Square bus stop, where you will find a hub of excellent independent stores, restaurants and artisan coffee shops. We recommend Fikka@44 for a delicious breakfast.

Bexhill’s De La Warr Pavillion hosts a variety of shows from children’s stories, late night comedy, exhibitions and live music. With route 99 stopping right outside the venue, step right off the bus and step into a vibrant world of arts and culture.

In Eastbourne, enjoy the breathtaking views from the town’s iconic pier, which is an impressive 300 metres long and built on stilts designed to move during rough weather. A quieter spot compared to Brighton, the sunshine coast town is home to some fantastic attractions including the Towner Art Gallery where you will find work by iconic contemporary artists as well as projects curated by the local community. With free entry to the gallery, bus users can enjoy 10% off ticketed exhibitions, when you show a valid bus ticket on the day.

Visiting Eastbourne on a Wednesday or Sunday? Experience Eastbourne Borough Market which runs all year round from 9:30am to 4pm and is located between Trinity Trees and Marks and Spencer. Stalls include local produce including organic dairy produce, fresh fish, meats, cakes, clothes, crafts, flowers, children’s toys, gifts and lots more...
