Stagecoach South Wales supports Ty Hafan

Stagecoach South Wales has supported Tŷ Hafan by raising over £5,000 towards the Welsh children’s hospice over the last few years.  

Robert McEwen, Fleet Engineer for Caerphilly and Merthyr depots organised a charity raffle throughout December for the fourth year running. Local businesses and suppliers donated gifts for the raffle and Stagecoach staff and their families were invited to buy small gifts in return to be entered into a prize draw. The depots raised over £600 which was match funded by Stagecoach totalling £1200. The winners were announced before the Christmas break. 

Stagecoach also raised an additional £600 for the charity in the opening event for the new Stagecoach depot in Cwmbran in August 2022, this was match funded to raise £1200 for the charity. 

Kelly Dibble, Senior Fundraising Executive for Corporate Partnerships came to visit Cwmbran depot to tell Stagecoach how their donation will be used. 
Kelly said: "All of us at Tŷ Hafan would like to say a huge thank you to the staff at Stagecoach for their continued support. Every year we take care of over 300 children with life-shortening conditions whilst supporting their families. This is a collective effort - Tŷ Hafan simply couldn’t provide its vital services without the kindness and generosity of the public.

“Thanks to partners like Stagecoach, we’re able to continue providing expert care and keep our hospice doors open to children and young people requiring urgent and end-of-life care, as well as run our care services out in the community. Thank you for helping to make a short life, a full life”. 

Robert said: “We’re so happy to support Tŷ Hafan with our fourth charity raffle. Our staff are always happy to get involved when it comes to helping local children in our communities. It means so much to us that we’re helping to change lives. We’d like to thank everyone who donated and helped to organise this raffle, and we look forward to working with Tŷ Hafan in the future”.
