Stagecoach Wales is once again making festive travel easier and more affordable, with a maximum £1.50 single fare available on all journeys that start and finish within Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) throughout the whole month of December 2025.
The initiative is funded through the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund and delivered in partnership with Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, ensuring communities can access low-cost, reliable transport at one of the busiest times of the year.
The seasonal fare reduction offers significant value for money for local residents and visitors, helping people save on travel while enjoying Christmas shopping, festive events, and time with friends and family. Catching the bus also helps avoid festive parking pressures, reduces congestion, and removes the stress of driving during the busy holiday period.
In addition to the £1.50 single fare for adults aged 22–59, young people aged 5–21 can travel for just £1 for a single, thanks to the Welsh Government initiative, while over-60s can continue to travel free using their Concessionary Travel Card.
Martin Gibbon, Managing Director of Stagecoach Wales said:
“Christmas is a time for people to come together, and we’re delighted to participate in this hugely popular festive fare offer. The £1.50 single ticket means families, shoppers and those heading to festive events can travel affordably and without the hassle of parking or driving in busy conditions. We’re proud to work with our partners to help make travel simpler and more sustainable throughout December.”
The scheme aims to support local businesses, improve accessibility across the region, and encourage more people to choose sustainable public transport over the festive season.
