Stagecoach South Wales Supports Ty Hafan Children's Hospice

Stagecoach South Wales has proudly donated over £1,000 to Ty HafanChildren's Hospice through an internal survey that ran for two weeks at the start of December 2024.

Robert McEwen, Fleet Engineer for Aberdare and Merthyr depots, organised his yearly charity raffle throughout December for the fifth year running. Local businesses and suppliers donated gifts for the raffle and Stagecoach staff and their families were invited to buy small gifts in return to be entered into a prize draw. The depots raised over £400 which was match funded by Stagecoach totalling £800.

Martin Gibbon, Managing Director of Stagecoach South Wales, said: “It is heart-warming to see how much of our staff across South Wales care for Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice. Every year, Robert organises a charity raffle for all staff to donate and for the past two years Ty Hafan was the highest voted for in our internal poll for which charity we should donate £2 to for every completed survey. The money that has been donated from Stagecoach and Robert will help those families and children who need the support of Ty Hafan.”

Kelly Dibble, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Ty Hafan, said: "Thousands of families in Wales live every day knowing their child’s life will be short, at the moment, they often face this journey without any care or support, isolated, alone and afraid.

We are delighted that the staff at Stagecoach continue to support Tŷ Hafan and share our ambition; that when a child’s life will be short, no family should have to live it on their own. Thank you for driving awareness of our cause and donating vital funds that will help us to walk alongside every family that needs us.

Tŷ Hafan is there to ensure that when every day could be their child’s last, families are able to make memories together, create precious moments and live life to the fullest. Support is ongoing and continues through life, death and beyond."
