Stagecoach South have recently appointed Colin Finch as Engineering Manager at their Worthing depot, whilst Dave Nestor has been appointed as Engineering Manager at Portsmouth depot.

Colin Finch began his Stagecoach career as a shift fitter at our Chichester depot in January 2011. After becoming a day fitter, Colin became a mentor for apprentices. Colin was later appointed Assistant Engineering Manager at Chichester in January 2020.

After a 30-year career in the British Army, Dave Nestor joined Stagecoach in 2011 as a day fitter at Portsmouth depot. After 7 years, Dave left for National Express subsidiary, Lucketts Coaches, in Fareham, where he was Engineering Manager, subsequently being appointed Head of Engineering for the National Express southern region.

In addition, two new Assistant Engineering Managers have been appointed, Mickey Creed at Chichester and Daniel Pearce at Worthing.

Mickey Creed started his Stagecoach career as an apprentice at Chichester depot in 2013 and after qualifying became a day fitter at the depot. During his time with Stagecoach, Mickey has been a great advocate of the apprenticeship programme and has featured in many apprenticeship and engineering recruitment campaigns.

Daniel Pearce joined Stagecoach in 2009, at the age of just 16, as an apprentice based at Chichester depot. After qualifying, Daniel has been able to support other apprentices, as well as providing assistance to other depots, including Portsmouth, Aldershot, Basingstoke and Winchester. His most recent role has been a shift fitter, based at Worthing depot.

Tony Probert, Engineering Director for Stagecoach South said “The Stagecoach Apprenticeship and Staff Development programmes have been vital to developing the talented teams we need within the business.

“We’re committed to ensuring that we provide real opportunities for staff development and these latest rounds of appointments are a great testament of how our people can grow within the business, so I am extremely pleased to congratulate Colin, Dave, Mickey and Daniel on their recent promotions.”
