Stagecoach announces the appointment of its first Nepalese Assistant Operations Manager

Bus operator, Stagecoach South, has recently appointed Sudib Gurung as its first Nepalese Assistant Operations Manager at their  Aldershot depot.

 

Sudib who has been with the company in Aldershot for ten years, started his career at Stagecoach as a bus driver. He progressed through leading driver, duty controller and allocation controller roles before his recent promotion.

 

He also comes from the Stagecoach Shine Pool; a programme designed to coach and mentor emerging talent to aid development within the company and is just one of the schemes Stagecoach has in place for progressing its people. 

 

Stagecoach had also recently sponsored Sudib in taking part in the external programme that WiHTL run, which is an Ethnic Future Leaders Programme. The programme aims to improve ethnic diversity in leadership by investing and developing high potential employees and supporting their progression.

 

Sudib will be assisting the operations manager in the day to day running of the depot which operates 42 routes across the Blackwater Valley. The depot employs 150 drivers from around the local area which is also home to a large Nepali community.

 

Commenting on his new role, Sudib said: ‘I am very excited with the new role and truly looking forward to making a difference and contributing to the continued success of our #TeamAldershot and Stagecoach South as a whole.
