From Sunday 26th May 2024, bus operator Stagecoach is introducing a Sunday timetable on its popular service 65 between Alton and Guildford. To celebrate, the buses will be completely free to use on 26th and 27th May and all Sundays throughout June!
Service 65 will run hourly during the daytime, seven days a week, improving connections for communities along the route, including Farnham and Bentley.
Graham Harmer, Operations Manager said: “Service 65 provides an important and direct cross-boundary link along the A31 between Alton and Guildford, serving the communities of Bentley and Farnham along the way.
“We’re really pleased to add extra trips to this busy route, making it even easier to leave the car at home and explore our region by bus.
“Our buses are still part of the Government’s £2 Single fare cap. A trip on the bus is already great value – but we’re going one step further with free travel on Service 65 on Sundays and Bank Holidays from 26th May and throughout June. We look forward to welcoming customers on board!”
In addition to the new Sunday timetable, there'll also be a later journey from Guildford to Alton on weekdays & Saturdays.
At Alton town centre, service 65 connects with service 64 for onward travel to Alresford and Winchester.
The service improvements have been made possible thanks to Department for Transport Bus Service Improvement funding, delivered in partnership between Hampshire County Council and Surrey County Councils.
