Celebrating Long Service and Excellence at Stagecoach South

Stagecoach South proudly celebrated the remarkable dedication and commitment of 31 long-serving employees, whose collective contribution represented an impressive 730 years of service. The event honoured individuals who had achieved milestones ranging from 20 to 35 years of service, reflecting their enduring passion and loyalty to the company.

Held at the Leonardo Hotel in Southampton, the celebration brought together a diverse group of team members from across the organisation, including Bus Drivers, Cleaners, Operations Managers, a Coach Builder, Electrician, and Store Person/Keeper. These individuals have not only provided exceptional service over the years but have also played pivotal roles in delivering high-quality transportation services to the community.

The event also welcomed top-performing drivers who have demonstrated exceptional efficiency on the road with zero collisions, absences, and lowest scores for good driving.

National Star of the Month winners from the South were also recognised for their efforts in contributing their bright ideas to local business initiatives in Andover and Portsmouth.

The evening was hosted by Marc Reddy, Managing Director, and co-hosted by Dave Sheppard (www.davidsheppard.info), creating a celebratory and engaging atmosphere for all who attended.

Marc said “I have only been with the company for just over a year and I am bowled over by the family-friendly atmosphere that I feel when I am in our depots. It’s true to say Stagecoach, and particularly Stagecoach South, is very much one big family.”

That comradery really sets the bus industry apart from anywhere else, and the people at Stagecoach South give such great dedication and service that it’s important to celebrate them all at our annual awards event.”

Another highlight of the evening was the recognition of Nick Knight, Stagecoach South’s longest-serving bus driver, who has contributed an extraordinary 52 years of service. Nick’s commitment has set a benchmark for excellence within the company. This event not only marked the celebration of service milestones but also highlighted the spirit of teamwork and achievement that continues to drive the success of the organisation.
