Last weekend, the Stagecoach Aldershot team showed incredible dedication as they joined the local community at the highly anticipated Rushmoor Pride event on September 28th. Originally planning to attend in their eye-catching Pride bus, unforeseen circumstances left the bus unable to make it to the event. However, that didn’t stop the team from finding creative solutions and making sure they could still take part in the celebration.
The event, which attracted over 200 attendees, was a great success, and the Stagecoach team’s perseverance contributed to that triumph. After their Pride bus wouldn’t start in Winchester, staff quickly sprang into action searching for an alternative vehicle. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the team were unable to provide a replacement vehicle. Undeterred, they adapted by arriving in a Stagecoach van with a gazebo in tow to set up their stall and show their support.
Councillor Christine Guinness, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the team’s efforts:
“You and your staff went above and beyond to attend Rushmoor Pride. I’m forever grateful that you and your staff went to such huge efforts to join us. It was an amazing event, and even we were actually shocked at well over 200 people attending. Please say thank you for us, to the drivers.”
Operations Manager for the Aldershot depot, Aaron Hodgkiss, praised the resilience of the team:
“I am yet again blown away by the spirit from people within our depot. Despite the unexpected issues with transportation, they still attended and supported the Pride event. We’re looking forward to the next one running without any issues!”
The Aldershot team’s determination was evident through the involvement of key staff members. Reece Shipton made it to the event and manned the stand, while Jan Smith ensured the stranded vehicle was attended to.
Stagecoach Aldershot’s participation in Rushmoor Pride showcases the company's commitment to supporting local events, celebrating diversity, and standing by their community, no matter the obstacles.
