Andover residents and visitors are now benefiting from a series of exciting improvements to the local bus network, courtesy of Stagecoach South. As of Sunday, 20th April, these enhancements include increased service frequency, improved punctuality, and, most notably, the introduction of a brand-new Sunday timetable for Service 75—with free travel on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays for a limited time!

One of the most significant upgrades is the newly launched Sunday timetable for Service 75, which provides a vital connection between Andover, Sutton Scotney, South Wonston, and Winchester. This expansion represents a major step forward for the local community, offering greater accessibility to the city for shopping, work, and leisure, and ensuring more convenient weekend travel options for all.
To celebrate this enhancement, all journeys on Service 75 are completely free on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays from Easter Sunday, 20th April, through to Monday, 26th May. Regular weekday and Saturday services continue to operate with standard fares, including a capped single fare of just £3, ensuring affordability and convenience for passengers.
To mark the launch, Stagecoach South held a special event celebrating the introduction of the free Sunday service. The event welcomed local parish councillors from Sutton Scotney and South Wonston, as well as councillors from Andover and Winchester, who joined Stagecoach South’s Operations Manager, Mark Jackson, Interim Assistant Operations Manager, Katarzynaewa Pyczek and Leading Driver, Ryan Goodridge, to show their support. Their attendance demonstrated strong community and council backing for improved public transport and highlighted the positive impact the initiative is already having across the region.
This initiative is made possible through Hampshire County Council’s Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), a strategic effort designed to enhance public transport accessibility and promote more sustainable travel options across the region.
Mark Jackson, Operations Manager at Stagecoach South, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative:
“We are thrilled to introduce free travel on Sundays to celebrate the improved timetable for Service 75. Our goal is to encourage more people to take advantage of these new services and experience the convenience of public transport. Whether it’s for a shopping trip, a day out in Winchester, or visiting family and friends, we hope this initiative will inspire more residents to explore their local communities while embracing sustainable travel.”
With these improvements, Stagecoach South reaffirms its commitment to providing reliable, accessible, and environmentally friendly transport solutions for Andover and the surrounding areas.
