Stagecoach revise bus services in Dumfries and Galloway

29 Apr 2016

Stagecoach West Scotland have today (Friday 29th April 2016) announced service changes as a result of budget cuts by Dumfries and Galloway Council.  There will be changes to several supported local bus services operated by Stagecoach West Scotland on behalf of SWestrans.

In the light of these changes Stagecoach West Scotland is also reducing the frequency of two of its commercial services operating between Dumfries Town Centre, Lincluden and Lochside.

The changes to both tendered and commercial services will take effect on Monday 30th May 2016 and will affect a number of routes across the region.

Tom Bridge, Managing Director, Stagecoach West Scotland said “Following the funding cuts to bus services in the Dumfries and Galloway area we had to revisit the viability of some of the bus services we provide in the area on a commercial basis. In order to ensure we can continue to provide our customers with a comprehensive and reliable bus network in Dumfries and Galloway we have unfortunately had to reduce the frequency on two of our commercial services.”
