- Top award for Stagecoach West Scotland X74 service
A popular Stagecoach bus route has been named Best Bus Service at the 2018 Scottish Transport Awards.
Stagecoach West Scotland’s X74 route scooped the top award at a ceremony held in Glasgow last night (Thursday 14 June).
The X74 route operates between Dumfries and Glasgow and has gone from strength to strength in recent years. The service operates 12 times a day and carries around 180,000 passengers each year.
Stagecoach has introduced a fleet of six vehicles providing more comfortable travel for customers, along with complimentary wifi, charging points and an on-board toilet.
The number of customers using the route has increased by more than 10% in the past 3 years.
Acting Stagecoach West Scotland Managing Director Sam Greer said: “It’s great to win this award and provides some well-deserved recognition for our team who work hard to deliver high quality services day in, day out.
“The X74 is growing in popularity as more people realise it’s a convenient, comfortable and affordable way to travel between Dumfries and Glasgow, and we look forward to welcoming even more customers on to our services in the future.”
The Scottish Transport Awards is in its 16th year and brings together the transport community to recognise and celebrate industry achievements across Scotland.
