Stagecoach West Scotland celebrations are underway for the first birthday of the re-brand of its popular Service 11 route from Kilmarnock via Irvine, Kilwinning, Stevenson and Saltcoats to Ardrossan. 

In January 2018 an investment of £5.6 million was made to launch 27 brand new double decker vehicles on the route.  Since the re-launch the busy service has covered almost 620,500 miles with over 4.1 million passenger trips made. Further improvements were made to the Service 11 timetable in November 2018 to improve the punctuality and reliability of the service.

Customers can join the birthday celebrations by cashing in on exclusive discounts available via the Stagecoach Bus App and website when purchasing a weekly or adult mid-Ayrshire ticket for the service 11 from Monday 28th January 2019. 

What’s more the company are giving lucky customers the opportunity to win the bus trip of their lives along the Service 11 route finishing up at Si, Irvine for a very special afternoon tea with non-other than actress Jane McCarry. 

Jane McCarry said: “I love travelling by bus, people talk to each other, weans, pensioners, dugs. Everyone has a story and there’s many a time I’ve missed my stop because I’ve been blethering.  I can’t wait to read about the adventures folk have had on the number 11 and to meet the winners in person and get a chance to chat over a fancy tea.
