Stagecoach West Scotland Service 11 First Birthday Celebrations

18 Mar 2019

Still Game actress Jane McCarry joins competition winners to celebrate Stagecoach West Scotland’s Service 11 first birthday!

On Saturday 16th March, eleven lucky Stagecoach customers, along with their guests joined Jane McCarry, Still Game’s Isa for a special trip on board the bus company’s service 11, finishing with an afternoon tea at Si! in Irvine.

The special event celebrated the one year milestone of the new buses being put on the popular Ardrossan to Kilmarnock route.

The winners were selected after submitting their stories online about their life onboard the 11. Winning stories included a mum who was in labour on board, a carer who uses the bus for work, a volunteer DJ who uses the bus to get to his radio presenting job and a dad whose baby loves to peer out the window when he takes her on board.

Winners had the opportunity to meet and have a gossip over afternoon tea with actress Jane McCarry, who was invited back after launching the new fleet this time last year. Jane said, “I love travelling by bus, people talk to each other, weans, pensioners, dugs. Everyone has a story and there’s many a time I’ve missed my stop because I’ve been blethering.  It was great to read about the adventures folk have had on the number 11 and to meet the winners in person and get a chance to chat over a fancy tea!”

Jacqueline Rowan, Marketing Manager, Stagecoach West Scotland said, “We wanted to get our customers involved with the celebrations this year, the Service 11 is one of our most popular routes so we knew there would be a story or two.  We had over 200 entries to the completion so narrowing it down to the final 12 was a challenge”.
