Stagecoach West Scotland is increasing the timetable for the busy X77 and X76 express bus services which operate between Ayrshire and Glasgow City Centre. From 1 September 2022, the service is doubling and will run every 30 minutes with new direct links with Monkton and Fenwick villages.
X77 express service will now serve Monkton for the first time, providing a new direct link between the village and Glasgow city centre for bus users travelling for education, employment or leisure. The X76 express service will also now serve Fenwick (in place of X77) and customers travelling from Fenwick will benefit from Stagecoach’s luxury double deck coaches.
All our express buses have great on-board facilities including free WIFI, USB charging, air conditioning and a contactless payment option of up to £45. And, of course, bus travel is free in Scotland for anyone under 22 who has a valid travel card.
Local activity was held in Ayr, Monkton, Kilmarnock, Fenwick and Glasgow on the first day of service with the Stagecoach team handing out goodie bags to passengers boarding the buses with freebies including drinks, breakfast bars and muffins.
Fiona Doherty, Managing Director of Stagecoach West Scotland, said: “We are very pleased to expand the timetable for our popular express services from Ayrshire into Glasgow. With the new links through villages Monkton and Fenwick we are continuing to provide vital direct links for these communities into the city centre. Our express buses are the perfect way to travel and if you have not used the bus service before, I’d encourage you to leave the car at home and use the bus.”
