Local bus operator Stagecoach West Scotland has spread festive cheer throughout its local communities on the lead up to Christmas. From dressing up in their favourite festive attire to exploring local towns in Santa’s Grotto Bus, Stagecoach colleagues brought the spirit of Christmas to their customers throughout December.
Stagecoach Santa and his busy elves have been spreading cheer and raising money for their partner charity, the Night Before Christmas Campaign (NB4CC), this festive season. Santa’s Grotto Bus, a specially designed Christmas bus created to raise funds for NB4CC,visited Ayr, Cumnock, Irvine, Dumfries, and Stranraer with people of all ages enjoying their time with Santa and his elves. The Stagecoach team met hundreds of people in their local communities and were honoured to share such magical moments with families.
Santa’s Grotto Bus made some special deliveries along the way. They visited Sacred Heart Primary School in Girvan with a donation of selection boxes for every pupil. The pupils were delighted with the visit from Santa and the chocolate topped it off.
In Glasgow, Stagecoach teamed up with the ‘Bank on Us’ campaign and Santa’s Grotto Bus collected hundreds of bags of donations, which were delivered to local primary schools and made a special drop-off to local food banks within Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
Fiona Doherty, Stagecoach West Scotland Managing Director said: “We’re delighted that Santa travelled with us across our network, spreading joy to everyone and supporting such great causes in our local communities. Stagecoach employees are deeply committed to supporting people in need and we’re proud to support campaigns close to our employees’ hearts.”
With the funds raised from employees’ fundraising efforts and Santa’s Grotto Bus, Stagecoach filled the festive bus full of donations for Night Before Christmas Campaign allowing them to fulfil more referrals to families in need.
Jodie McFarlane, Head Elf of the Night Before Christmas Campaign expressed her gratitude for their support: “These donations will make such a difference to the people in need. This year has been a difficult one for everyone and we haven’t had the same amount of donations as before. Our campaign is more important than ever due to the cost-of-living crisis. We appreciate all the support that Stagecoach gives us.”
