Stagecoach West Scotland is celebrating another award nomination as Rachel Hart, Marketing Assistant, has been nominated in the ‘Frontline Employee / Community Champion of the Year’ category at this year’s National Transport Awards.
Nominees for this award must demonstrate a true commitment to their role, often going above and beyond expectations, dedicating their own time to achieving community value and ensuring customer and staff satisfaction and well-being.
Since joining Stagecoach, Rachel has been a standout performer and has consistently demonstrated commitment to her duties. As a true champion of bus travel, Rachel connects with local communities, encouraging bus usage and effectively communicating schemes such as The Scottish Government's Free Bus Travel Scheme for those under 22 and over 60 years of age. Rachel’s efforts have also made a positive impact on recent collaborations with organisations such as NHS, Developing the Young Workforce, Street League, local government bodies and charities.
Alexis Carnie, Stagecoach West Scotland Marketing Manager, said: “Rachel has become an integral part of the team showcasing commitment, passion and dedication to every task. Her can-do attitude extends beyond her marketing role, often assisting other departments to ensure a great customer experience. All of the team here are incredibly proud and wish Rachel the best of luck at the award ceremony in October.”
Stagecoach Scotland, which includes West, East and North, has also been nominated at the National Transport Awards in the 'Exemplary Contribution to Net Zero' category. This nomination is in recognition of its combined investment of over £70 million across Scotland in Net Zero initiatives. This includes the launch of the UK's first fully-electric city network in Inverness, the introduction of Scotland's first "pantograph" on-route charging point at Kilmarnock Bus Station, the deployment of low and no-emission vehicles to serve local and semi-rural areas and the addition of 33 electric buses to Perth and Dunfermline, creating two fully electric bus networks in those areas.
The National Transport Awards is an annual event organised by Transport Times, supported by Transport Scotland, Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom, Transport for Wales, Department for Infrastructure, Transport Focus, Intelligent Transport Systems UK and Urban Transport Group. The awards ceremony will take place on 3rd October 2024 at the Westminster Park Plaza in London hosted by impressionist, Jon Culshaw.
