Stagecoach West can, today, announce some changes to its services in Swindon which includes the introduction of a new route.

Following the news that Swindon Bus Company will no longer be running the 16 bus route from Sunday 4th September 2022, Stagecoach West has stepped in, altered an existing route and introduced a brand new one to service customers in this area – Service 9 will now be split into two new routes:

1. Service 9 – Town Centre to Wroughton:

The updated Service 9 will remain the same between Regent Circus and Wroughton and buses will run every 30 minutes (Monday to Saturday). Unfortunately, due to poor usage this service will no longer run on Sundays. However, Service 49 will continue to run every 2 hours as an alternative.

2. New Service 4 from Town Centre to Tadpole Garden Village:

The new Service 4 will replace the previous service 9 from Town Centre to Tadpole Garden Village running every 20 minutes (Monday to Saturday). This route will no longer run via Gorse Hill or Cricklade Road but will instead run via Great Western Outlet, Cheney Manor industrial estate, Woodhall, Haydon Wick, Orbital Retail Park and Abbey Meads before continuing to St Andrews Ridge and Tadpole Garden Village.

Rachel Geliamassi, Managing Director, Stagecoach West says: “We’re delighted to be able to offer customers in the areas affected by the withdrawal of Swindon Bus Company’s 16 service an alternative means of travel. We look forward to getting to know these new customers and to welcoming them on board from 4th September.”
