George Sloan has been appointed as the new Operations Director for Stagecoach West, following his successful tenure managing the bus company’s operations in Oxford.
George began his Stagecoach bus journey on the Graduate Scheme in 2018, attaining his Level 3 Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence qualification with the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport.
George has held Stagecoach management positions at Northampton, Carlisle, Fenstanton and Peterborough depots before taking the reins at Stagecoach Oxford, in 2022. There, he was responsible for the successful delivery of bus operations in Oxford and surrounding towns and villages, managing a team of 250 and running 85 vehicles.

As Operations Director, George will assume direct responsibility for leading the operations team across multiple Stagecoach West depots and outstations, overseeing around 450 vehicles and leading a team of over 750 members of staff* The position was held previously by current Stagecoach West Managing Director, Chris Hanson.
