Bus drivers help make Sheffield Residential Home ‘blooming lovely’
Bus drivers and staff from Stagecoach Yorkshire delivered a barrow full of kindness to Park View Residential Home in Shiregreen.
The employees from the bus company’s Ecclesfield depot raised over £380 during their recent Jubilee Celebration buffet to buy a host of gardening items for the residents at Park View to enjoy all summer long, and in years to come.
Staff at the depot cooked and baked their socks off to raise money to donate a mix of plant pots, gardening tools, greenery and lights for the resident’s garden.
Sally King, Operations Manager at Stagecoach’s Ecclesfield Depot said: “While we were celebrating Her Majesty the Queen’s long service to our country, we wanted to celebrate those who had given much to support our local community over the years too. We thought the best way to do that was to honour some of our oldest residents.
“All our staff went over and above to bake, cook and contribute to raise money for the garden equipment. We’re very proud to serve our local community and we hope the residents at Park View enjoy their garden as much as we enjoyed our cake.”
Lyndsey Darnell, Care Home Manager at Park View Residential Home said: “The garden is such an essential part of our home here and we really appreciate these donations.
“Having a nice, green and well cared for outdoor space is so beneficial to our residents and they really enjoy spending their time out there. We would like to thank the staff at Stagecoach Ecclesfield for the garden equipment – it will really bring a smile to our resident’s faces.”
