Temporary late night disruption to the Blue & Purple route 7-10 June

Due to essential track maintenance works in the Gleadless, Herdings and Birley Lane areas, a revised service will be in operation on the Purple and Blue routes every evening from Monday 7 June to Thursday 10 June inclusive.

  • PURPLE route trams will stop operating earlier than normal. Last departure from Cathedral to Herdings at 21:42. An additional departure will operate from Herdings to Cathedral at 21:37. The usual 21:47 departure from Herdings will still operate and the last departure from Herdings to Cathedral will be at 22:08. 
  • BLUE route; the last service from Malin Bridge to Halfway will be 20:43 (20:59 from Cathedral) and from Halfway to City/Malin Bridge at 21:46. Later services will only operate between Malin Bridge and Sheffield Station to the timetable below.

Yellow and Tram Train routes are not affected and will operate as advertised.


There will be no dedicated rail replacement bus services operating. Customers affected by these changes may use valid tram tickets on Stagecoach and First bus services in the affected areas. These include;
