Vandalism and Antisocial Behaviour in Swinton

10 Mar 2021

A spokesperson for Stagecoach said:

For the safety of our customers and staff, we will be diverting all services in the Swinton area (218, 218a, 220, 221, & 208) every evening from 6pm until Monday 15 March due to persistent vandalism and anti-social behaviour placing customers and staff at risk.

The safety of our staff and customers is our highest priority. Throughout the pandemic our staff have been there for those who need to travel every day and they really do not deserve to be exposed to such disgraceful actions with stones and missiles thrown at buses.

We are working very closely with the police and adjusting services really is a last resort. We would ask our local communities to remain vigilant and work with us to report any information that may assist the police with their enquiries.

Our bus services are vital to local people for essential journeys. We understand how important it is to the local community that these are able to be maintained and we are very keen to do that.”
